Before the summer ran out there was just enough time for one last family getaway, this time it was a short drive over to Naples, FL, where we were vacationing with four other families from the kids’ school. Once again another client generously offered to accommodate us, and we were soon checking in to a 2200 square foot luxury condo at the Regatta resort complex near Vanderbilt Beach. What a time the kids had together at this summer “camp.” It was funny how one of Julia’s little girl friends (age 9) kept remarking about going back to her “cabin,” which I found an amusing way to describe a million dollar luxury condo featuring designer decor. The biggest decision we made each day was whether to visit the pool or the beach, both of which were within a short walk. The kids (even the girls) enjoyed most that we captured baby crabs and also minnows from the lagoon each day, bringing them back to our room and then each morning “sending them back to their mommies” as they said.
